As recent as 2014, Trewstone were awarded "Excellence in Brickwork"  at annual Master Builder's Association Awards. Judges comments were "Impressed with Trewstone Contractors in relation to exacting standards, cleanliness and quality of brickwork. It was evident that the bricks were hand picked and considering that the height of some of the brickwork was in the vicinity of 6 storeys, the contractors and their tradesmen did an excellent job."

Having being awarded a Structural Excellence Award for Chapel Hill Winery in 2004 , Trewstone's belief is that the stone needs to be well installed with correct bonding of stone, correct mixing of colours and textures of stone and minimise the thickness of the mortar joint. The stone needs to be the primary focus and not the mortar.

As well as great aesthetic values, when core filled block walls become structural components to rival any concrete panel system.

With the benefits of coloured block work not requiring painted finish.

The old style grey concrete block has evolved substantially with many pleasing colours and now different textures such as :

• smooth

• split face

• shot blast

• honed

We predominantly install concrete masonry by Adbri including their Architectural Designer Range and Versaloc Mortarless systems.

Also construction methods have evolved. The mortarless block is a far quicker and cleaner system , stronger also with the benefits of Adbri Masonry having their own in house engineer to assist at design stage as well as certification.

Versaloc is particularly good system in tight inner city locations. Boundary walls can be installed overhand. Trewstone have an approved system for overhand work. Also can be very cost effective in country areas where concrete panel freight and cranage can be expensive. Trewstone can also apply any rendered or textured finish and paint coat.

With more than 15 years of concrete pumping experience, with our own line pump, means we have a complete knowledge and understanding of concrete placement in walls.

Trewstone are committed to the preservation and protection of our heritage buildings.  From replacement of damaged masonry through to re-pointing of stone and brick work, our qualified tradesmen have the necessary experience and eye for detail.

Understanding more completely the use of appropriate materials like lime mortar and not cement mortar. These original materials are becoming more available. Together with new technology and materials we can solve difficult problems like Salt Damp. Our preference is to underpin, but where we cannot, silicone injection is a suitable treatment.

We have carried out repairs ranging from minor to major scopes on many projects,  Including some very unordinary projects like replacement of the sandbag structure to the former explosives pyramids at Edinburgh, SA.

Our plasterers are skilled in the repairing and replacing of lathe and plaster ceilings, cornices  and walls as well as detailed rendered skirting runs together with  repairs to plaster  and cracking of plastered walls, recently carried out to Old Parliament house, Adelaide.

All aspects of plastering from  heritage repair work and colour matching of external renders  through to modern texture coat systems.

We have one of few spray render machines in Adelaide capable of applying acrylic modified render to larger scale projects.

TrewStone are also knowledgeable with traditional Lime Wash systems and are licensed painters.

Trewstone has plant hire available with or without operator, including late model  Telehandlers  to Australian standard, Forklifts and Line pump   etc.

Salt damp treatments and waterproof membranes

TrewStone use several methods of treatment for salt damp. From underpinning methods to silicone injection and poultice to remove moisture from walls. TrewStone can test walls for moisture content prior to treatment, and  again test walls for moisture when treatment is complete.

We also supply and install paint on waterproofing membrane and protector board to masonry walls.

Reinstatement  of masonry walls to complete and invisible repair carried out by our qualified multi skilled tradesmen, through to painting if required.

Trewstone have been involved in some very different projects over the years from repairing explosive pyramids to erecting 18m high granite statue of Buddah.

We have a proven track record of being able to think outside the square and carry out quality work in a well organised manner.

Both head contractors and suppliers seek us out whenever there is a challenging or out of the ordinary project.  Above all as noted in our remote and interstate work, we can do it at the back of beyond.

Foam panel is a new lightweight cladding system to the building industry; Trewstone  believe will be used more into the future on commercial projects such as aged care facilities.
